Days after the controversial claim by several states that no lives were lost due to the shortage of oxygen amid the pandemic, the Union Health Ministry sought data on deaths due to lack of oxygen. So far, only 14 states have submitted the data. The states that have submitted the data include Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Assam, Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal and Andhra and 13 of these states have denied deaths due to lack of oxygen.
