China records biggest surge in daily Covid cases in two months

China recorded the biggest surge in daily coronavirus cases in the past two months. Most of the new coronavirus cases were recorded in Ruili, a city on the border with Myanmar in southwestern Yunnan. The residents of the city were put under home quarantine by the local government. A large-scale testing drive was started in the city for the early detection of the cases. People have been restricted from entering and leaving the city.
