China to test entire population for Covid-19 amid surge in cases

China has been witnessing a fresh surge in Covid-19 cases nearly a year after the country managed to curb the outbreak. The Chinese authorities have decided to test the entire population in Wuhan for Covid-19. The decision has been taken after Wuhan reported its first local infections in more than a year. The city of 11 million is "swiftly launching comprehensive nucleic acid testing of all residents", senior official Li Tao said.
