Well renowned environmentalist and the leader of the Chipko movement, Sundarlal Bahuguna passed away due to Covid-19 at AIIMS Rishikesh, where he was undergoing treatment. Bahuguna was 95. He contracted the disease a few days ago. The environmentalist was admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh in Uttarakhand after his condition deteriorated. He fought for the conservation of Himalayan forests over the past several decades.
