'Corona curfew' in Uttar Pradesh extended till May 10 amid surge in Covid cases

The Uttar Pradesh government has extended the 'corona curfew' in the state till 7 am on May 10. The authorities had earlier decided to increase the duration of the weekend lockdown by 48 hours till Wednesday, but they decided to extend it further till Thursday. Additional Chief Secretary (Information) Navneet Sehgal said the decision was taken to break the chain of transmission of the deadly infection.
