Coronavirus claims first life in New Zealand in 6 months

New Zealand reported its first Covid-19 death in six months Saturday. The patient who died after contracting the infection was a woman in her 90's. The woman had underlying health conditions and could not receive a ventilator or intensive care support. She breathed her last in an Auckland hospital on Friday night. The woman is the 27th person to die with Covid-19 in New Zealand and the first fatality since February 16.
