According to a study by researchers at US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Kansas State University, blocking middle seats on flights can provide more protection against the novel coronavirus. The researchers claimed that the risk of a person onboard a flight contracting the virus could be reduced by 23% to 57% if middle seats are left vacant. However, all major US airlines are flying with full strength.
