According to a study that appeared in the Journal of the American Medical Association, arthritis drugs tocilizumab and sarilumab help in lowering the risk of death and the need for ventilators in those hospitalised due to Covid-19. The findings were a result of an analysis of nearly 11,000 patients. The World Health Organization recommended the use of these drugs, known as IL-6 inhibitors, after the study.
