Oscar academy decides to not introduce 'popular' category

A new category 'popular' was planned to be introduced in the 91st Oscars in 2019. However, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have finally decided to drop that after facing criticism for weeks. In a statement, AMPAS has said that adding one more category to the list now will increase the challenges for the films that have been released already. However, they added that they will continue to think about it.
