A legendary actress, the honey-voiced singer whose film dramas, musicals & innocent sex comedies made her a top star in the 1950s & 60s has died. She was 97. The Doris Day Animal Foundation confirmed her death at her California home & said she was surrounded by close friends. She was in excellent physical health for her age until recently she contracted a serious case of pneumonia leading to her death.
