Veteran film and theatre personality Girish Karnad passed away on Monday at the age of 81 in Bengaluru. The reason for his death is not known. He was also seen in Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger. He was a receiver of the 1998 Jnanpith Award, the highest literary honor conferred in India. In 1974, he was also honored with Padma Shri and in 1992 with Padma Bhushan. Many from the film industry express their sorrow.
