People distorted remarks, I talked about empowerment: Javed Akhtar on Burqa ban

Recently, a Shiv Sena member demanded a ban on 'Burqa' which sparked controversy. Though Shiv Sena has dissociated itself from the demand. When asked about the demand, lyricist Javed Akhtar said he is having no issue with the banning of the Burqa but the govt should announce a ban on ghunghat too. He now explained people mistook his remarks. In Sri Lanka, reason for ban may be else but it is needed for woman empowerment.
