Standup comedian Munawar Faruqui gets interim bail from Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of India today granted interim bail to standup comedian Munawar Faruqui, who was jailed over allegations of "insulting Hindu Gods and Goddesses" during one of his shows. The Supreme Court also issued a notice to the Madhya Pradesh government. Faruqui's lawyer moved the apex court after Madhya Pradesh High Court rejected his bail plea thrice. He was arrested after a complaint by Eklvaya Singh Gaur.
