Game of Thrones has numerous fans all over the world, but a study by a senior lecturer at Deakin University in Canada Mat Hardy revealed that it might be reinforcing the existing racial, cultural & geographical stereotypes that have been a part of the Western imagination of the East for centuries. He cited examples of Daenerys Targaryen, a white Westerner who navigates the Eastern lands to claim her birthright.
