Even before the release of the trailer, Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao's Mental Hai Kya is facing troubles, not because of any dialogue or scenes but because of its title as psychiatrists and mental health experts says the film's title is derogatory. The issue is now seen as the reason for the delay in the release of the film's trailer. Ekta Kapoor organized special trailer screening for CBFC & Indian Psychiatric Society.
