A study showed that young Americans suicides increased by a third a month after Netflix TV series '13 Reasons Why' wherein a teenage girl kills herself. The study had limitations; couldn't make a direct casual link between Netflix series & an increase in suicide rates or rule out other factors. The suicide rate in April 2017 was 28.9% higher among US youth ages10-17 than expected. The increase was driven primarily by young boys.
