2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to 3 scientists for research on lithium-ion batteries

The 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to John B. Goodenough, M. Stanley Whittingham and Akira Yoshino for the development of lithium-ion batteries by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. With this Goodenough (97) surpasses Arthur Ashkin ( 96) to become oldest person ever to get the Nobel prize. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded 110 times to 180 individuals between 1901 and 2018.
