22% of Indians live below poverty line-Chhattisgarh & Jharkhand fare worst

India is creating milestones in space, but still, it's major roadblock is poverty. Nearly 22% of the Indian population is living below the poverty line. The situation is even worse in the rural areas of Chhattisgarh & Jharkhand, where it's as high as 45% of the population live below the poverty line. Rural economy accounts for 60% of the entire economy & rural India contributes to 37% of overall FMCG consumption in the country.
