An analysis done by the WHO and Imperial College, London found that 11 European countries affected by the pandemic including Italy, Spain & the UK could have avoided about 59,000 deaths with a range of 21,000 to 120,000 deaths through interventions such as social distancing, school closure, lockdowns. The study has also figured that only a fraction of the population has been infected & infections are likely to jump soon.
