Authorities begin demolition of illegal flats in Kochi's Maradu area, Section 144 imposed

The authorities in Kochi have imposed section 144 of CrPC in Maradu region, where two illegal apartments are being demolished following the order of the Supreme Court in May. The police has sounded the two sirens alerting the demolition process. The Maradu apartment complexes, spread on at least 800,000 square feet, will be brought down. Two more illegal complexes will be brought down on Sunday, as per the order.
