Calcutta High Court directs NHRC to probe alleged human rights violations in post-poll violence in Bengal

Amid the horrendous reports of rape, torture, thrashing and displacement of people in the post-poll violence in West Bengal, the Calcutta High Court has directed the National Human Rights Commission to form a panel to look into the alleged human rights violations. National Commission for Women chief Rekha Sharma said she met several women in shelter homes during her visit to Bengal and they were afraid of returning to their houses.
