This is for the 3rd time in a row that the Reserve Bank of India's Monetary Policy Committee on Thursday has slashed interest rates by 25 basis points, as was widely expected. The committee also decided to change the position of monetary policy from neutral to accommodative, as announced by the RBI governor Shaktikanta Das. In the last 2 policy reviews, RBI reduced the short-term repo rate by 25 basis points each.
