Cyclone Kyarr, the super cyclonic storm over the east-central Arabian Sea, is about to hit the Oman coast after causing heavy rainfall in 3 states located on India’s west coast — Goa, Maharashtra and the north-coastal districts in Karnataka. The name 'Kyarr' was selected out of 64 names suggested by 8 countries including India, Bangladesh and Myanmar in 2004. The cyclone will be named 'Maha' and later 'Bulbul' after Kyarr.
