Berkeley, California voted unanimously to replace 40 gender-specific words in the city code with gender-neutral words. Well, this move has drawn both praise & scorn. So, nothing will be 'man-made' in the city but'human-made.' Similarly, there will be no 'manholes' but 'maintenance holes,' 'manpower' becomes 'human effort.' The masculine & feminine pronouns such as he, him & she, she will be replaced by 'they' and 'them.'
