The Union Home Ministry has revoked Overseas Citizenship of India(OCI) status of writer and journalist Aatish Taseer for “hiding information”. Taseer concealed the fact that his father was a Pakistani. The Ministry said that it gave Taseer the time to respond but the writer failed to do so. He is now ineligible to hold the OCI card as per the Citizenship Act, 1955. Taseer had recently called PM Modi “Divider-in-Chief" in his article.
