India to develop Greater Male Connectivity Project in Maldives

India will sign the largest-ever infrastructure project in the Maldives, to further boost ties between the two nations amid China's attempt to increase its presence in the Indian Ocean region. India will develop a 6.74 km long bridge and causeway link connecting Male with adjoining islands of Villingli, Gulhifalhu and Thilafushi under the Greater Male Connectivity Project. India has extended a $100 million grant for the project.
