India to get seven new defence companies today

The Narendra Modi-led central government went ahead with the bold step of dissolving the Ordnance Factory Board despite warnings of strikes by the employees. The centre has now decided to convert the OFB into seven fully government-owned corporate entities to fulfil the goal of becoming self-dependent in defense. PM Modi said on Twitter that he will dedicate 7 new defense companies to the country on the occasion of Dussehra.
