Rivers in Kerala are drying up after the destructive rain and floods a month ago. The mass death of earthworms has also been observed in the severely hit Waynad District. CM Pinarayi has asked the State Council for Science, Technology & Environment to initiate a scientific study to resolve the abnormal situation. Many institutes have been brought in to study changes in biodiversity and impact on animal habitat.
