Land degradation to cost 10% of 2010 gross product; affect 3.2 billion people

Land degradation caused by the human activities has led to mass human migration and increased conflict. Due to this, species are being driven to extinction and it has also affected the climate. Land degradation will affect 3.2 billion people around the globe and the cost to bear will be about 10% of the world’s annual gross product in 2010 as per the three-year assessment report by experts from 45 countries.
