Surpassing Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the founder and ruler of Sikh empire during the early 19th century, has been voted as the greatest leader of all times. In a poll conducted by BBC World Histories magazine, Maharaja Ranjit Singh was voted the greatest leader in world history by 38 per cent of the more than 5,000 readers of the magazine.
