Orders for 1.7 crore PPEs and 49,000 ventilators placed: Health Ministry

The health ministry said in its press conference that the government is making sure that there is no dearth of equipments in the wake of the novel coronavirus and hence orders for 1.7 crore PPEs and 49,000 ventilators has been placed. Chief Secretary Lav Agarwal said 20 domestic manufacturers have been roped in for development of PPEs. Railways have deployed more than 2,500 doctors and 35,000 paramedics staff.
