According to a report titled “Count the cost of 2020: a year of climate breakdown" by global NGO Christian Aid, damages worth $150 billion were insured after the 10 costliest disasters of 2020. More than 3,500 people lost their lives while over 13.5 million people were displaced due to the weather disasters that were boosted by climate change. These disasters include Australia’s out-of-control wildfires and the Atlantic Hurricanes.
