Philips tests LiFi in French real estate office

Philips announced that it is working on LiFi or Light Fidelity in a French real estate investment company called Icade. This technology uses LEDs to transmit a high-speed broadband connection of 30mb/s through light waves. For now, LiFi users will have to plug a USB dongle into their devices to access it, but it will be built into other devices. LiFi is said to have better reach and more security as compared to WiFi.
