Researchers have found the remains of an extinct marsupial lion species called 'Lekaneleo roskellyae' in the Australian Outback that roamed an ancient rain forest in the north-west highlands of Queensland about 23 million years ago. It is one of the smallest lions ever discovered, and was about the size of a domestic cat. It had very sharp teeth that were capable of slicing through the bones of its prey.
