San Francisco returned religious Thai relics back to Thailand

After five decades, a pair of 1,000-year-old religious relics that US investigators claim were unlawfully removed from Thailand have been returned. According to the Department of Justice, the relics were "illegally taken" from Thailand. The Thai Embassy in the US thinks they were illegally transferred during the Vietnam War in the 1960s. The return of the pieces was greatly welcomed by the deputy director of the Asian Art Museum.
