West Nile virus has claimed is the first victim on Monday in Kerala's Malappuram district. A 7-years old boy was tested positive for the virus before losing his life to it. However, no other cases of the disease have been reported yet. The child was quarantined for 10 days and everyone around him are being monitored. West Nile is a Japanese encephalitis antigenic complex that enters the blood through an infected Culex mosquito bite.
