UN awards Indian firm for up-cycling floral waste, creating livelihood

'Help Us Green', an Indian firm that collects floral waste from temples and river Ganga to up-cycle it to produce organic fertilizers, natural incense and biodegradable packaging material, was one of the 15 recipients of Momentum of Change award by UN Climate Change. The firm, which has recycled 11,060 metric tonnes of floral waste till date also provides livelihood and increased income to female manual scavengers.
