Woman kills man to protect herself from rape

The police released a 23-year-old woman who reportedly murdered a possible rapist on the grounds that she acted only in self-defence. According to accounts, the lady, a mother of two, was fighting to extricate herself from the deceased's grasp when she shoved him. After learning about the case in detail, Tiruvallur police invoked section 100 of the IPC (right to a private defence) and freed her on station bail.
