Yamato city in Japan aims to ban phone use while walking on roads

With an intention to lower the number of road accidents, officials in Yamato city, near Tokyo has submitted a bill to the city assembly to stop people from using their phones while walking on roads, as it is a major cause behind many of the accidents."The number of people using smartphones has rapidly increased and so have the number of accidents" in the densely populated area, city official Masaaki Yasumi told media.
