Intelsat VA F-12, also known as Intelsat 512 at the time, was a communications satellite operated by Intelsat. It was the twelfth of fifteen Intelsat V satellites to be launched in September 1985. Ford Aerospace built the Intelsat V series, which was based on the Intelsat VA satellite bus. The Intelsat VA F-12 satellite was part of an advanced series of satellites designed to increase the capacity of Intelsat's global network.
