Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar is a former Indian cricketer who is one of the greatest if not the greatest in the history of world cricket. Born on 24 April 1973 in Mumbai to Ramesh Tendulkar and Rajni Tendulkar, Sachin is much more than a mere cricketer. He has revolutionised a whole era of cricket and has inspired millions to take up the game. There is hardly any record book in the cricket world that Sachin has not etched his name on. He is the only cricketer in the planet who has scored 100 international centuries and also is the first batsman to score a double century in one day cricket. ‘The God’ as he is called by many, the charismatic batsman has faced one the toughest bowling sides from all around the world and has bossed almost all of them. Sachin has scored 15921 test runs in his 24 years long career in just 200 matches. He has scored 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries with an average of 53.8 and a high score of 248 not out. Sachin has 18426 ODI runs to his name in 463 matches that includes 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries with an average of 44.8.

The Master Blaster played only one T-20 International for India as the shorter format was introduced during the last few years of his career. However, he has equally remarkable List A and IPL records. He has been awarded India’s highest award Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Shree and several other records. No amount of words can describe the greatness of legend but he gives all the credit for his success to Late Ramakant Vitthal Achrekar. Sachin played his last match against West Indies between 14th to 16th November 2013 in Wankhede Stadium Mumbai.
