The place has always been the most controversial part of India for its largest region 'Kashmir' which is the subject of dispute between India, Pakistan, and China.

Muslims are the majority in this UT but also has the large communities of Hindu, Buddhists and Sikhs. The culture and tradition of the place are as wonderful as its beauty. Dhumal (men) and Rouff (women) are Kashmiri's traditional folk dance, whereas, Pheran is the traditional costume for both men and women. The majority is involved in agriculture. Rice, pulses, corn, millet, cotton, etc. are grown there. J&K is known for its fruits and dry fruits such as apples, peaches, walnuts, almonds, etc. Saffron of Kashmir is the most popular spice which is also very expensive. Silk cultivation and fish farming are the important means of the economy.

Jammu and Kashmir is a travel destination where tourists from every corner of the world come and explore their culture. The holy place 'Mata Vaishno Devi' temple in Jammu is the center of the devotees.

Located in the mountain valley of the Himalayas, the place is popular for the lakes too. Dal lake known as ‘theJewel in the Crown of Kashmir', is one of the most beautiful lakes on earth, whereas, Wular lake is famous for its freshwater.  Shalimar and Nishat Bag, houseboats, Hari Parbat, are the major attraction of the place. pashmina shawls, carpets. wood carvings are some magical stuff made by the locals. Jammu and Kashmir is not less than the paradise on the planet.
