1 Million bank staff to go on strike on August 22

Banks will remain shut on August 22 as 10 Lakh employees go on strike against privatization and merger and consolidation of banks and other demands including not to write-off non-performing assets (NPAs) in banks. The All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), which represents nine unions and employees of public as well as private banks, said a massive rally would follow on September 15.
