Allahabad high court raps Election Commission, directs to conduct Suar assembly by-polls

The Election Commission of India has been pulled up by the Allahabad High Court. The court has asked the election body to conduct by-polls on the Suar assembly seat in Rampur district of UP. The seat has been vacant since the cancellation of the election of SP candidate Abdullah Azam Khan, the son of senior SP leader Azam Khan by the court on December 16, 2019. Abdullah was underage and not qualified to fight the poll in 2017.
