Iran's new President Ebrahim Raisi expressed his delight over the 'defeat' of US in Afghanistan. "The military defeat and the US withdrawal from Afghanistan should offer an opportunity to restore life, security and lasting peace in that country," Raisi said. The new Iranian President said this as the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. However, Raisi didn't mention the Taliban's takeover of Kabul in his statement.
