Assam CM says he is committed to Assam Accord after the release of classified report

Sarbananda Sonowal, the Chief Minister of Assam has said that he is "committed" towards the promise made by the BJP to implement Clause 6 of the Assam Accord that guarantees to safeguard the rights of the indigenous people of the state. The statement came after the Home Affairs Ministry's confidential report by the All Assam Student Union (AASU). Sonowal said no other government had taken it seriously.
