After facing huge criticism over the decision to continue with the 15,000 cap imposed on refugee inflow by the Trump administration, the Joe Biden administration has increased the maximum number of refugees allowed into United States this year to 62,500. "This erases the historically low number set by the previous administration of 15,000, which did not reflect America's values as a nation," Biden said.
