After the surprise resignation of Vijay Rupani, the BJP legislature meeting on Sunday chose Bhupendra Patel as the new Chief Minister of Gujarat. The party had sent Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar to Gujarat as the party's central observer to the meeting.
