British lawmakers and lobby groups sanctioned by China over stance on treatment of Uighurs in Xinjiang

In a move that may further disrupt the ties between China and the United Kingdom, the Xi Jinping administration has sanctioned British lawmakers and lobby groups over their criticism of Beijing's human rights violations in Xinjiang. China said that it has sanctioned nine UK individuals and four entities because they had "maliciously spread lies and disinformation" over Beijing's treatment of Uyghurs.
