Soon after the current Governor BS Koshiyari decided to step down as Governor of state, there was a tremendous amount of curiosity on who will lead the state after him. Former Chief Minister of Punjab and BJP leader Captain Amarinder Singh is tipped to be the next Governor of Maharashtra. Earlier it was claimed that BJP's Sumitra Mahajan will be the next Governor. However, soon her name was taken back from the Governor race.
